OUR SONG

A Play by Keith Waterhouse
Directed by Ned Sherrin

'Real compassion... wildly funny... two magnificent hours' Charles Spencer, Daily Telegraph

Stuck in the rut of his middle-aged executive lifestyle, Roger Piper (Peter Bowles) stumbles into a tempestuous affair with bubbly Angela Claxton, and is thrown into a whirlwind of romance and champagne. He finds himself increasingly neglecting his work, wife and young son in favour of trysts with a girl half his age, while his bank account is progressively sapped in order to maintain his double life. As their hilariously mismatched, but touching relationship develops, Roger's obsession with Angela begins to take over and his behavior starts to affect every corner of his life, plunging his relationships with family and friends into turmoil.

'The jokes are excellent... waterhouse is marvellous... uproarious laughter' Charles Spencer, Daily Telegraph

'Our Song fairly sings with success... ingenuity, irresistible wit... Tim Goodchild's wonderfully evocative set... a marvellous achievement' Jack Tinker, Daily Mail

'Ned Sherrin's production is a masterpiece'
James Christopher, Time Out
